Since 2022, I’ve been gradually sculpting with the aim of a complete Renaissance army of ducks. The army is planned to have all the options you’d look for, no matter if you’re making a duck version of a historical army from the Italian Wars, or if you want to use them for your favourite fantasy tabletop wargame. I’m basing this range on sets of three miniatures per pack, which means that I want ot make at least one command pack and a troopers pack per unit type. Usually more than so, as I’m personally fond of not fielding too many identical miniatures in my units.
The process of making metal miniatures has several steps. First, you need to sculpt the miniatures. Then you need to have a caster make master molds, which are less durable molds that can make several metal copies. These metal masters are then used for both painting up showcase miniatures and for making the actual production molds. The production mold making is the most expensive part, and that is where Kickstarter comes in as a way to fund making them.
